You have probably heard about nonverbal communication in a class before and asked yourself how is it important and how can we incorporate it in our daily lives. Well, nonverbal communication is none other than the type of communication you have with others when you send or receive non verbal cues. This can be anything going from a facial expression such as a frown, a smirk, opening your mouth, or yawning, to other small body movements such as impatiently shaking your legs, tapping on a desk, blinking repeatedly, how much eye contact you make and even your posture. Now you might be asking yourself how can these small details really make a difference when you try to get your message across. Well, the answer is simple; without these you wouldn’t really be showing any emotions and your audience wouldn’t be able to easily tell whether you are interested in a particular subject, if you are telling the truth, or even if you are expecting some sort of feedback from them. Think about these nonverbal cues next time you are presenting in a class or talking to someone.
